AE Plant Hire is a family owned and managed company which has proved itself as a reliable and professional partner in the transport and general Plant Hire industry.
The Company was founded in 2012 by Eugene and Annelize Van Der Merwe, and primarily focused on plant hire. Being involved in the construction industry since 1996, we have a wealth of experience and identified a need on our construction projects for reliable equipment and dependable service so we started procuring our own mobile plant and machinery. Over the past years we have expanded into plant hire and transport and through a series of acquisitions and mergers we became AE Plant Hire in 2014. The founders still take an active roll in the day to day management of the Company.
Whilst the initial business focused entirely on general plant hire, over time we started supplying low bed services. Shortly after this we purchased various sized tipper trucks for the removal of rubble and transport of building and plaster sand.
The Company is based in Gauteng on the West Rand but we currently operate in Gauteng, Mpumalanga, North West Province and the Free State.
Capital Investment
The major portion of capital invested in the Company has been appropriated in the acquisition of Mobile Plant and Machinery. The Group has also invested in property for domestic and industrial use. The Company currently owns;

Service Excellence
Our vast compliment of field service units will ensure that any down time will be kept to a minimum and replacement units are kept on standby to replace any equipment breakages that cannot be repaired on-site.
Larger sites with various equipment compliments will be supplied with a professional site manager to liaise with the client and ensure maximum productivity with minimum downtime.
Our Employees
The Company currently employs approximately 50 People. This includes 35 Driver/operators, 4 Foremen, 6 Qualified Mechanics with assistants and various others.
Our employees are well trained, medically tested, inducted and retrained by our in-house certified Health and Safety Manager on a regular basis to ensure that all Health and Safety Regulations are strictly adhered to. The health and safety of our employees and customers is of critical importance to us and that enables AE Plant Hire to provide the construction industry with professional, experienced service that ensures high productivity and low risk.
